We’re getting closer to the end of another intense and vivid year, and I don’t know about you, but I feel the need for a little more light and hope - the kind that dance can bring into my life. That’s why I chose AMAL as the guiding thought for this approaching festive season and the content I’m offering you.

AMAL is a special choreography lab series. It brings us deeper than a usual live workshop - first of all, it consists of three live workshops (with recordings). I’m offering a detailed musical analysis, mood setting, dramaturgy, as well as a nuanced and beautiful choreography to Malish Amal, a passionate classic song from my upcoming album. Whether you are looking for a new choreography for your performance repertoire, a special song for a competition or understanding this intricate style better, this is for you.

The title means “I have no hope”, yet the song is all about hope. Through this dance, I’d like to offer an interpretation of this beautiful contradiction. A reminder that hope can be found, nurtured, cherished, in so many places, the past of the future, small or big moments, in ourselves, in each other, in festivities or in the mundane - and in movements too, sometimes unexpectedly.

Over three sessions, we’ll learn the complete choreography together, with time to go deeper into the details than usual, focusing on technique, musicality, context, storytelling and expression as well.
